Our Team

We believe it takes a village to do the work we do. With years dedicated to animal rescue, our team has worked for our rescue organization to obtain nonprofit and 501(c)3 status. Based in the Upstate, South Carolina area, our pawesome volunteers keep our organization running efficiently.

Allen Poole

Allen is the Vice President and COO of an industrial general contractor. In 2013, Allen and his wife moved to their current location home and began a renovation project to build their dream retirement home. Always an animal lover, Allen stumbled into animal rescue, rehab, and rehoming, and has been doing so for over twenty years.

Allen and his wife, Shannon, have four dogs, two cats, three goats, a gaggle of geese, a rafter of turkeys, six hens a-laying, a few ferrets, and a pigeon (or two) in a pear tree.

Dr. Shannon Poole

Dr. Poole is a member of the faculty of the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, and is a laborist, where she is involved in the medical education of residents and medical students. 

Dr. Poole has had a special affinity with animals since childhood.

When she’s not wearing her physician’s coat, Dr. Poole can be found rescuing and caring for the animals on the farm she shares with her husband, cooking, and knitting.
